Wow! This book was absolutely fantastic. I loved seeing things from Froi's point of view and learning more about his mysterious past. The plot line of this book was well laid out, answering some lingering questions from the first book and creating even more twists and turns that played upon the complex relationship between Lumatere and Charya. I can't wait to see where the 3rd book will go!I found the characters in this book much more likeable and relatable than in Finnikin of the Rock. I especially enjoyed the interplay between Lirah and the twin brothers. Everyone in this book seemed half crazy at times, but perhaps it's just a Charyanite characteristic. Quintana as a character with multiple personalities was interesting, and the way she still seemed to demand respect and loyalty from others despite her craziness was wonderful. I can't wait to read the next book from her point of view!
